Andrew McAlpine’s MY UTMOST DEVOTION is a book-length long poem, originally written as a series of Tweets during a residency with Mount Analogue, in which our hero confides “I am not afraid to be childlike/ to make my wants known/ & to look in horror at the requirements/ of a well-managed day”, and later, “when I roll my tongue on the place/ where ice cream cone meets ice cream/ I get a sense that something/ might just change forever”
